The Back to School Basketball Tournament is one of Montserrado County YMCA’s flagship youth programs designed to engage students in sports, teamwork, and community service at the start of each academic year.
This exciting annual event brings together high school basketball teams across Montserrado County and beyond to compete in a friendly, high-energy tournament that promotes discipline, school pride, and healthy lifestyles.

The tournament runs from August to November each year and features:
- Group and knockout stages leading to Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals
- Separate divisions for Boys and Girls
- Participation from both private and public high schools in Montserrado County
- Certified referees, coaches, and YMCA youth volunteers managing each game
Games are held at YMCA Gym, creating safe, vibrant spaces for youth participation.
